Expressing the optimism that the government would implement the verdict of Supreme Court on National Reconciliation Ordinance, former president Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, has said that the government has no other option except to implement the decision.

Talking to journalists at Supreme Court, Aitzaz Ahsan expressed the hope that the government would implement the verdict on its own. Aitzaz, who is also a member of Central Executive Committee (CEC) of PPP, said, "hopefully the government will avoid any kind of confrontation with the apex court." About the review petition filed by the government, he said that it did not mean that the decision would stand suspended with filing of the review petition.

Expressing his views about the detailed judgement, Aitzaz said that it couldn't be inferred from the judgement that it has asked for freezing of somebody's assets. He demanded trial/accountability of the former military dictator Pervez Musharraf, who promulgated the ordinance in 2007.
